answers1: Adam is the Hebrew word for human being ("earth creature,"
if you want to be picky).

Gen. 1 is very allegorical in use of the term. It states that God
created Ada, in His image, in the image of God. Male and female
created he them (adam).

There are two conflicting genealogies in the Gospels, showing that the
whole matter is just symbolic.
answers2: Evolution is not compatible with Christianity full stop. I
don't know how anyone can fool them self to believe both, its
ridiculous.
answers3: Adam lived and that is a fact. Your 10000 years is not a for
sure because the Bible does not state how long it took Adam and Eve to
loose immortality.
There is a concept used in science called Uniformitarianism that all
things continue as they now are. But this assumption is known to be
false. Artic research has shown the oxygen levels change, our own life
time shows that major changes can and do take place. In my own life
time the mechanical mechanisms for time have had to be adjusted
because they no longer measured a year or day right.
So we know that a basic assumption for guessing at time is wrong.
Weather patterns shift and with it the amount of rain fall and many
other things change. But under uniformitarianism this is not allowed.
So the petrified forest for example could not exist and there is no
way for coal or even oil to form. But they are and under the present
conditions they would have to be a lot older then they are in reality.
So I feel no need to reconcile numbers based on a false assumption
with something that is a recorded event.
answers4: christian belief in evolution is weak faith in God's word
answers5: The Bible is chock full of inconsistencies.
Many of our more conservative pastors never mention this. If you ask
them, they will never give an explanation.

When Christians begin to ask the difficult questions, they are left
without a pastor.
The real reason the Catholic church did not want the Bible written in
the language of the common people may be that there were too many
errors and contradictions and the leaders worried it would challenge
faith.
There is no explanation for this.
