What are some humanities I can major in?
answers1: The question really should be, "What can't I major in?"
because there are tons of humanities degrees being offered. Of
course, every college differs, but in general, the humanities include
English (which typically branches off into creative writing (fiction
or nonfiction), literature, or composition and rhetoric), theatre,
cultural studies (such as African studies or African American studies
or Latin studies or Latin American studies), history (which is nearly
endless!). Those are just to name a few. <br>
<br>
Really, the best answer would be to look at the course offerings at
the colleges that you are considering. Some even offer liberal arts
degrees, which essentially means that you would be a jack of all
trades (but master of none). Many colleges and universities allow
students to create a major that makes use of a variety of disciplines
(majors). Really, when it comes to the humanities, you are bound
mostly by your imagination.
answers2: Oh, try physics. The world needs more physicists. Go for it!
answers3: Arabic <br>
Anthropology <br>
Art <br>
Art History <br>
Afro-American Studies <br>
Asian Studies <br>
Asian-American Studies <br>
Chinese <br>

i need to know wat exactly humanities,political science n commerce is about,i don want defintions from wikiped
answers1: Science
answers2: First start by typing in complete words. It's very hard to
even understand your question with all the spelling mistakes and
strange abbreviations!. <br>
<br>
Humanities would be the study of the arts; sculpture, paintings etc.
Someone studying this might become an art history professor or be
someone who works reproducing paintings for museums or teaching
literature. <br>
<br>
Political science is the study of how governments work. Not only our
own government but governments of other countries. You will talk about
their history, creation and how laws are made and enforced. Someone in
this field might go into politics, become a lawyer, a professor or
perhaps even go into government work being an ambassador. <br>
<br>
Commerce is one I'm not entirely sure of. It depends on how your
school presents the material. But my best estimate is that it would be
the study of how trade works. You will probably study some basic
economic theories of supply and demand, gross national product, how
things are bough and sold. You might even talk about advertising.
This might be a good course of study if you want to go into sales.
<br>
<br>
Realize this: You can study whatever you want in high school or
college. What you end up doing for a living may have nothing to do
with what you study.

Engineering and Humanities?
answers1: Ah, reminds me of Harvey Mudd College. <br>
They're known as a great engineering college, yet they also have a
third of their curriculum based in humanities. Their goal is to
produce well-rounded scientists who can understand how their work is
affecting the world. <br>
No matter. <br>
Engineers build things. They design the technology that humans use in
their everyday life. Ah, key word there. Humans. <br>
Humanity's usage of this engineered technology obviously has
questionable results sometimes. Many of our warfare fears focus on the
new technology engineered. <br>
Similarly, the course of humanity has changed over the last few
millennia. This evolution, from things such as clay tablets to this
here Internet, is a feedback loop between cultures and technology.
<br>
Point is, humanities are affected by engineering, which is in turn
molded by humanity.

American Folk Art??
answers1: Google the name Grandma Moses and you will see what folk art
is all about.
answers2: Folk art - whether in America or elsewhere, also known as
Naive Art, - is art - painting, sculpture, crafts of all sorts, that
are produced by people who have developed their skills themselves
without any training (maybe passed from father to son). Certain folk
arts are specifically American, there is a long list of them in a book
describing activities for children. <a

<br>
Scrimshaw - art of carving on whalebone or ivory is not a specifically
American folk art. But making soap scrimshaws are (see the text
above). <br>
According to a Sotheby's expert on folk art, Duck Decoys are
definitely American folk art. "They were being made even before the
white man came to our shores." The reference is to the decoys that
Native Americans used to snag birds. See Roadshow article <a

DO ANIMALS HAVE INTENTION MAKING AN ART?
answers1: Animals are not capable of making art. It is important to
recognize that all things made by animals, like humans for instance,
are artifacts, and very few artifacts are art. Art is a result of very
complex behavior that no animal other than humans has demonstrated.
Lots of non human animals make things and use tools. None of them ever
make art. Only humans have been able to make art and very few of them
have demonstrated appropriate skills and abilities by the artifacts
they make. <br>
<br>
Art has a reality like gravity. It is real rather than the nonsense
most people believe art to be.

given art supplies.

Seriously...? Bullying.?
answers1: That's the way the world of arts happens to be. *shrug* From
dance to visual arts to creative writing. Point being you won't
necessarily not run into those kind of people in visual arts,
regardless of how talented/skilled you may be. Actually if you watch
gallery girls - omg, and these people are adults. <br>
<br>
Since it's an ongoing problem, maybe bring it up to your counselor
about specifically why your thinking of changing if you haven't
already. It may be possible to nail them for harassment, which could
make it worse if you get higher ups involved. They may make you pay
for it though. <br>
<br>
If its important to you stay with it. If you feel as though you could
preform better within another major by all means go to another major,
there's nothing to be ashamed of in that regard. Good luck.
answers2: To hell with them, stay! Keep doing what you love, as long
as it makes you happy to do it. The class isn't about having friends,
it's about dancing and having fun dancing, so focus on that only and
you should be fine.
answers3: *yawn*
answers4: I would keep doing what Your doing, their jealous! Keep your
head up and show them You 10X better than what they are, if You quit
You are giving them what they want!
answers5: Lol

How to improve one's taste in visual art?
answers1: Do psychedelic drugs. Seriously your taste in art will
heighten so much and you will feel enlightened once you transcend your
ordinary state of mind.
answers2: For choosing the right colour combination, I think it would
really help to find yourself a colour wheel. <br>
<br>
Have a look at this, <a
href="http://www.tigercolor.com/color-lab/color-theory/color-theory-intro.htm"
rel="nofollow"class=Clr-b>http://www.tigercolor.com/color-lab/colo...</a>
<br>
<br>
I think it will really help you. <br>
<br>
As for judging the composition of something, you need to look for
balance and points of focus. Where does your eye naturally lead to?
Does the image lead your eye where it is supposed to? Or do we have
vectors leading you off the page and all over the place like a roller
coaster? <br>
<br>
The best compositions, in my opinion, are triangular compositions. I
think you should read about compositions, I know it's just wikipedia,
but I find wiki very helpful!! <a
href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Composition_%28visual_arts%29"
rel="nofollow"class=Clr-b>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Composition...</a>
<br>
<br>
But I don't really agree that a person should have any kind of "art
taste", I think that any one artwork is just as valuable as another. I
do not think Banksy's rats are any less "good" than the Mona Lisa, and
if I like Banksy's rats more then I don't think that means I have "bad
taste" in art. We are simply told what is good art and bad art from
centuries of tradition. So I think that you should go on liking or
disliking whatever type of art you want...but that's just the radical
Postmodernist critic within me speaking...you can ignore that
lol...but I promise it would help to read those links!! :P <br>

In college, I want to major in the visual arts, painting. What job could that lead too? Details, ten points.?
answers1: Painting and visual arts can lead to the BEST JOB EVERY. <br>
Japanese anime. <br>
One of the only universities that teaches this that I know of is the
Nihon Kogakuin college, but it is in the north side of Japan that just
had a Tsunami/Earthquake that was a 8.9/9.0 <br>
Visual arts can also lead to Computer Graphics like in Narnia. <br>
The program that they used for that was called "Massive Prime", it
cost a fortune, but there is some schools that provide it to you. <br>
Creative Cow teaches special effects in Adobe After Effects. <br>
The last visual arts school is The University of Hertfordshire. That
is the best 3D animation school. <br>
I think that its the best career ever.
answers2: There are dozens of art-related majors that you could take
in college, which don't necessarily have to be in the fine arts. Just
a few of them are Art History, Ceramics, Sculpture, Interior Design,
Film Studies, and Dance. There are also plenty of practical jobs in
the art industry including interior designer, museum curator, museum
technician, composer, art director, landscape architect, print maker,
illustrator (for books, mainly children's), choreographer, floral
designer (also consider bridal consulting), cartoonist, industrial
designer, and drafter. Remember to keep your options open for now and
explore your interests. Also remember that you don't have to declare a
college major until the end of your sophomore year IN college! You
have a long time to decide. And I don't know about you, but I'd always
rather be poor and happy than rich and miserable :)

what is visual art?
answers1: ?????
answers2: The visual arts are a class of art forms, including
painting, sculpture, film, photography, and others, that focus on the
creation of works which are primarily visual in nature. <br>
<br>
Arts or the Arts encompasses visual arts, performing arts, language
arts, and culinary arts. Many artistic disciplines involve aspects of
the visual arts as well other types, so these definitions are not
strict. <br>
<br>
The current usage of visual arts includes fine arts and well as
crafts, but this was not always the case. In Britain and elsewhere, a
visual artist referred to a person working in the fine arts (such as
painting, sculpture, or printmaking) and not the handicraft, craft, or
applied art disciplines. This distinction was emphasized by artists of
the Arts and Crafts movement who valued vernacular artforms as much as
high forms. The movement contrasted with modernists who sought to
withhold the high arts from the masses by keeping them esoteric. Art
schools made a distinction between the fine arts and the crafts in
such a way that a craftsperson could not be considered a practitioner
of art. <br>
<br>
There may be some residual meaning of visual arts as fine art. But
generally, visual arts is suitably independent of these older, loaded
concepts and as such is the preferred term for work across all the
disciplines in question. <br>
<br>
hope I helped u.. better keep reading books!

Why Does Girls at my school act so weird?
answers1: Please give some EXAMPLES of the "Wierd behavior" of the
girls at your school. This question can't be answered unles you tell
other people what the heck you are talking about <br>
ALSO use correct Grammar min the wording of your Question. <br>
I think your question should read "Why DO girls at my school act wierd
?use this fore of question when you are talking about MORE than ONE
girl <br>
Or, if you are only talking about just a single girl then ask "Why
does (insert name) at my School act so wierdly ?) and then tell us
about the so called "wierd" behavior
answers2: Define "weird." Based on the information I've been given, I
infer that you consider all girls at your school to be weird and that
you are a boy. Most boys consider girls "weird" because girls are
different from boys and thus behave differently. It may please you to
know that girls consider boys to be "weird."
answers3: if the act weird around u they might have a crush on u <3
answers4: Ah! Had the right comparable factor happen to me in intense
college with a guy. might act like a bully around his acquaintances
and then be the suitable buddy in the international at school. i think
that replaced right into a vogue to be commonplace together with his

other people what the heck you are talking about <br>
ALSO use correct Grammar min the wording of your Question. <br>

It may please you to
know that girls consider boys to be "weird."

how to diffentiate sincere act and phoniness.?
answers1: Often one act is not enough to be able to tell for sure.
What is the pattern of the person? Is the act an isolated event? What
does the person do when he or she doesn't think others are watching?
answers2: It'll be easier to tell when you know the person long enough
- his/her characters, personalities, etc... <br>
<br>
For me, I am somewhat able to read people mind. Based on the person
speech and looks, I could tell whether the person is since or not.
<br>
<br>
I shall give you some tips: <br>
1) Listen when the person speak, does he/she sounds sarcastic when
talking to you? <br>
2) Look at his/her eyes when talking, see if he/she is rolling her
eyes or keep focusing on somewhere other than looking into your eyes -
if so that person is insincere. <br>
3) Notice his/her normal behaviours. <br>
<br>
Hope these will help...
answers3: Sincere act is lasting, it stays, it doesnt change, bcause
its part of the person deep emotions, its not about winning brownie
points, like phoniness. Phoniness is temporary, it changes with the
wind, its superficial only to be part of the action.
answers4: A sincere act is made with no expectation of reciprocation
or recognition.

answers2: For just practice tests, you'll want to use the Real ACT
Prep Guide ( <a href="http://www.actstudent.org/testprep/book.html"
rel="nofollow"class=Clr-b>http://www.actstudent.org/testprep/book....</a>
) as it's made by the company that makes the ACT and contains
questions from past exams, so it's the most accurate for practice
tests. If you want to study and learn more about the ACT while
picking up hints, main brands include Princeton Review, Barron's,
Kaplan, and McGraw-Hill, but if you can, avoid using their practice
tests too much because they're just not as accurate. They are however
better for understanding the test from an outside perspective, just
don't pin your hopes on one because everyone has different experiences
with each one.

When did non-naturalistic theatre begin?
answers1: theatre was non-naturalistic from the beginning in 534 BC.
Not until the late 19th "C did the theatre try to be ultra realistic
by using "scientific" principles in its practice. Chekhov, and Ibsen

that naturalism began around 1885.

Why do we need to know the different types of poetry?
answers1: The main reason one studies poetry is so you can come to
understand it better. (This is the main reason one studies most
things). <br>
<br>
An important way to understand poetry is to be able to discuss it with
other people (especially other people who already understand it). <br>
<br>
When people who understand poetry discuss it, we use quite a few
technical terms. Terms about figures of speech (litotes, metaphor,
register shift), terms about genre (lyric, epic, detective fiction),
terms about form (sonnet, ballade, alexandrine). We use these
technical terms as a form of shorthand: a doctor talks about embolisms
and necrosis because those are conditions that commonly occur in
medicine, and will be understood by other doctors. Literary
specialists talk about framebreaking and ergodic methods because such
jargon defines things clearly, and saves time. <br>
<br>
Some teachers know that this is the purpose of jargon in literature
appreciation - as a tool for clarity and terseness: they teach only
what is needed for a particular poem. <br>
<br>
Sadly, some teachers have also discovered that teaching jargon is easy
(teaching poetry is always difficult), and they teach technical terms
without explaining why they are needed. <br>
<br>
If a teacher asks you to list (say) all the synecdoches in a poem -
but never tells you why this matters - she is simply incompetent. <br>
<br>
If you can't understand an explanation - you haven't learned anything.
But the teacher still gets paid.
answers2: extremely tough thing. check out on to google. that might help!

Should philosophy be part of school curriculums?
answers1: I say yes. But you'll always have controversy over what is
being taught because many might not agree. And the government tries to
tell us what we can and can't teach/learn. So the chances of it
happening are unlikely.
answers2: Yes, absolutely, but it shouldn't be called philosophy
because most parents will think it's a waste of time. Instead, high
school should require courses in critical thinking skills, analysis,
rhetoric and argument, ethics, and inductive reasoning. They should
be required in high school. Too many students arrive at college
unprepared to think clearly. <br>
<br>
High schools should avoid naming courses philosophy, logic, or
metaphysics because parents who are afraid of philosophy will think
those courses are not a proper part of a curriculum. There is a
wide-spread bias against philosophy among the ignorant because it is
so often associated with sophistry and trickery. Those parents who
know what philosophy is will be glad their children are learning
thinking skills.

what is masters of philosophy about?
answers1: The Masters in Philosophy at the University of Groningen is
an education program aimed at teaching students key skills in cricial
analysis, independent research, and both oral and written
communication within the context of philosophy. A central theme of
this education course is both critical reflection on life, science,
culture, and society, and the discussion of it, as nothing in
philosophy is self-evident. <br>
<br>
Students are taught within these four focuses, and are also able to
enroll in other courses outside of the Philosophy department. This
allows them to not only gain an in-depth knowledge of Philosophy, but
also to acquire an overview of the central debates within the
discipline they choose. During the last 6 months of their education,
students complete a thesis - the culmination of 6 months research.
