Tomi Vauters: First of all, you both deserve a pat on the back; you, for being proud of your father, and your father for being brave and honest. This kind of situation not always so easy to understand let alone handle. I'm from the other side of the country, but after a little research I came up with the following places. Most of them look promising. At least it will get you off to a good start! ___________________________________________________Behavioral Medi! cine Northwest925 E Thomas St, Seattle, WA 98102 206-720-6155 Comprehensive Mental Health Center1201 S Proctor St Ste 1, Tacoma, WA 98405253-396-5800Comprehensive Mental Health Center3834 S 19th St, Tacoma, WA 98405 253-396-5901 Comprehensive Mental Health Center815 S Pearl St, Tacoma, WA 98465 253-396-5930 Comprehensive Mental Health Center514 S 13th St, Tacoma, WA 98402 253-396-5000 Comprehensive Mental Health Center610 S Yakima Ave, Tacoma, WA 98402 253-396-5230 Emerald1050 140th Ave NE Ste G, Bellevue, WA 98005 425-641-2828 Everett Madison House918 Madison St, Everett, WA 98203 425-355-8668 Fairfax Hospital10200 132nd Ave NE, Kirkland, WA 98033 425-821-2000www.fairfaxhospital.com Harbor House1930 Boren Ave, Seattle, WA 98101 206-624-7046Highline-West Seattle Mental Health Center2600 SW Holden St, Seattle, WA 98126 206-933-7000Innerwave Center Pllc125 Washington Ave, La Conner, WA 98257 360-466-1614 Kitsap Mental Health Services5455 Almira Dr NE, Bremerton, WA 98311 360-! 373-5031 Lake Whatcom Residential & Treatment Center609 N Shor! e Dr, Bellingham, WA 98226 360-676-6000 Northwest Mental Health505 29th St SE, Auburn, WA 98002 253-931-1857 Pacific Institute of Mental Health2150 N 107th St Ste 510, Seattle, WA 98133206-363-7400 Seattle Mental Health14270 NE 21st St, Bellevue, WA 98007 425-641-2999 Seattle Mental Health1729 17th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122 206-325-7717 Seattle Mental Health1600 E Olive St, Seattle, WA 98122 206-726-0020 Sunrise Community Mental Health Agency1101 S 2nd St, Mount Vernon, WA 98273 360-336-3147 Valley Treatment Specialties715 1/2 Elm St, Clarkston, WA 99403 509-758-1026_______________________________________________I hope you & your dad can find a good place. Inpatient mental health hospitals usually all have similar programs, but the doctors that staff them can vary wildly. Make sure you & your dad know you have the right to leave any place that doesn't feel comfortable... But in the beginning it's probably best to stay with one place until he gets a little stability. One fin! al thing: Many state hospitals and acute care hospitals that are sanctioned to accept involuntary admissions are looking to admit people who pose a threat to themselves (suicidal or otherwise). Places like these have their hands full, and many will not take patients who do not fit this criteria. I've been refused admission for the very same reason, and it took me a while to understand that there's just not enough mental health care for everyone to go around. This is probably what happened with your dad. But I have faith you'll find a good place for him, and once you do, it's going to get better. It may be a long road, but it's going to get better.-VL-...Show more
