What are some humanities I can major in?

answers1: The question really should be, "What can't I major in?"
because there are tons of humanities degrees being offered. Of
course, every college differs, but in general, the humanities include
English (which typically branches off into creative writing (fiction
or nonfiction), literature, or composition and rhetoric), theatre,
cultural studies (such as African studies or African American studies
or Latin studies or Latin American studies), history (which is nearly
endless!). Those are just to name a few.

Really, the best answer would be to look at the course offerings at
the colleges that you are considering. Some even offer liberal arts
degrees, which essentially means that you would be a jack of all
trades (but master of none). Many colleges and universities allow
students to create a major that makes use of a variety of disciplines
(majors). Really, when it comes to the humanities, you are bound
mostly by your imagination.

i need to know wat exactly humanities, political science n commerce is about,i don want defintions from wikiped

answers1: Science
answers2: First start by typing in complete words. It's very hard to
even understand your question with all the spelling mistakes and
strange abbreviations!.

Humanities would be the study of the arts; sculpture, paintings etc.
Someone studying this might become an art history professor or be
someone who works reproducing paintings for museums or teaching
literature.

Political science is the study of how governments work. Not only our
own government but governments of other countries. You will talk about
their history, creation and how laws are made and enforced. Someone in
this field might go into politics, become a lawyer, a professor or
perhaps even go into government work being an ambassador.

Commerce is one I'm not entirely sure of. It depends on how your
school presents the material. But my best estimate is that it would be
the study of how trade works. You will probably study some basic
economic theories of supply and demand, gross national product, how
things are bough and sold. You might even talk about advertising.
This might be a good course of study if you want to go into sales.

Realize this: You can study whatever you want in high school or
college. What you end up doing for a living may have nothing to do
with what you study.

Engineering and Humanities?

answers1: Ah, reminds me of Harvey Mudd College.
They're known as a great engineering college, yet they also have a
third of their curriculum based in humanities. Their goal is to
produce well-rounded scientists who can understand how their work is
affecting the world.
No matter.
Engineers build things. They design the technology that humans use in
their everyday life. Ah, key word there. Humans.
Humanity's usage of this engineered technology obviously has
questionable results sometimes. Many of our warfare fears focus on the
new technology engineered.
Similarly, the course of humanity has changed over the last few
millennia. This evolution, from things such as clay tablets to this
here Internet, is a feedback loop between cultures and technology.
Point is, humanities are affected by engineering, which is in turn
molded by humanity.

American Folk Art??

answers1: Google the name Grandma Moses and you will see what folk art
is all about.
answers2: Folk art - whether in America or elsewhere, also known as
Naive Art, - is art - painting, sculpture, crafts of all sorts, that
are produced by people who have developed their skills themselves
without any training (maybe passed from father to son). Certain folk
arts are specifically American, there is a long list of them in a book
describing activities for children. <a
Scrimshaw - art of carving on whalebone or ivory is not a specifically
American folk art. But making soap scrimshaws are (see the text
above).
According to a Sotheby's expert on folk art, Duck Decoys are
definitely American folk art. "They were being made even before the
white man came to our shores." The reference is to the decoys that
Native Americans used to snag birds. See Roadshow article <a
