Sammy Kar: If it is a DirecTV TiVo DVR, you install in in place of your receiver. You need to call DirecTV to have it moved to your account, and move the card over, or get another one. There is no way it will cost more than the regular DVR fee, and you should not be leasing it or have any further contract. If it is a standlone TiVo, you have the connections right, except you need IR blasters as well, and a phone or network connection. You will more than likely have to subscribe to the TiVo service from TiVo. DirecTV does not provide DVR service for those DVRs....Show more
Reyes Brunell: They quoted me 7$ a month, after an initial rental fee of 200$ and 100$ 'set-up' fee.Seems like highway robbery to me. Oh and thats if i agree to a contract.
Voncile Slaubaugh: You won't be able to use the Tivo unless you subscribe to the service. DirecTV charges $7 per month for DVR service.
