1986 Pontiac Trans Am safety?

Troy Monsivais: definite, they have returned seats. I certainly have ridden interior the returned seat of this technology Trans Am. however the returned seat is amazingly small and uncomfortable. Adults would actual not choose for to journey interior the returned seat for any prolonged quantity of time.

Roni Kurz: If you love the car, well there's only one way from here. Fix it, even better if you learn how to do it yourself, the bond of car and driver grows.Dangerous? Well that's going to be up to your driving skills, and driving practices. People crash cars, regardless what they drive. Just be safe, learn how to control your car. Try to stay off your phone if you're driving.(might be a law where you live, idk) Hopefully you become a Pontiac person, we can always use more Pontiac enthusiasts. XD...Show more

Filiberto Ranalli: Yeah I really am concerned maybe it isn't the best idea. Maybe I could just fix it up for use down the road.

Danica Timperman: It! isn't a safe car at all. It's 25 years old, has no airbags, no anti-lock brakes and is rear wheel drive. If you live in a place with any winter, you will hate driving in January. I am all for buying American cars, but that first answer is blatantly ignorant.

Caroyln Ebach: Obviously it's not as safe as a newer car would be with airbags and full disc brakes, but as long as you're a good driver it's safe, it's unibody too so it's not like it'll crumple to **** in a crash, the only unsafe thing about it would be if it has a 350 or larger engine and whoever is driving it isn't used to driving a vehicle with that kind of power, like a sixteen year old girl, you'll likely wrap it around a pole, but if it's a V6 or 305 it wouldn't have enough balls to scare you.

Gwenda Micheals: Don't ever listen to your father. the trans am is an excellent and very safe first car. definitely safer than those POS Toyotas with stuck gas pedals thats for sure.

August Hubbard: You! have the rest of your life to have a cool car. Honestly and I! MHO, get a safe/economical car with 5 star safety ratings. The Trans Am is a sweet car, I'm a proud owner of a 69 but it isn't all that safe. If it were a newer version like the 02, it would be a toss up but the power, drive, lack of safety features and the body being made of metal... one crash at 35mph would mess you and anyone else inside up. Cars made of this so called, cheap plastic are designed to take impact for you which is why it appears cheap. But your limbs, friends and life depend on the safety of these newer vehicles. If your dad loves it so much, tell him to get it and let you have it after you've learned how to drive safely....Show more
