Clementina Collelo: get some bells they like bells i used to have 5 the where fun one lived 7 years bells and loops they love toys:)
Jon Bergmeier: GOT YOU COVERED BUDDY Entertain your parakeet you can sing to them, tell them stories, do a little dance, make up a play and perform it in front of the cage all of this will keep polly happy and you too.
Ervin Laeger: what ever you do!!! dont put a mirror anywhere near your bird! i dont care what other people say i think it is wrong and i have seen what hapens to birds with mirrors, they get to attached, you try and take it away and they get deppressed and dont eat, they turn on people it ruins there lives! they think they have found a true friend and really it is a pecie of glass with a coating on it, the try and feed it they fight with it they dont move from the spot right next to the mirror, only to go back and get more food to feed there fake friend that people trick them with, i would suggest bells, nontoxic ! wooden toys, budgies love to chew!! no matter how small they are they chew! if you have the room i would suggest getting another budgie, they will be entertained all day, with a REALL friend :) if it is a tame budgie, and you decide to get another, then be prepared that you will need to give them attention or they will get to attached with there friend and will become untame, my budgie also had a life long toy, it was a really cheep set of colourd rings, very basic, but it entertained her for hours, going up and down, in and out :) you dont need to spend heaps on sumthing when the cheep stuff is just as amussing to then.this is a picture of a similar ring set to what i had..http://www.pet-bliss.com/acatalog/BirdToy5RingsSma...ot might even be the same! but yea, trust me it works!!please believe me about the mirrors, ii really do care for your birds and i dont want you to ruin there lives like i did many years ago and other people i have seen...Show more
Rana Rudell: A! re they tame? If so trick training can be a great way to inter! act with your birds. In the cage, rotate the toys, give them different types of toys. Shredding toys, and preening toys, toys with bells, and swings. Change the toys around every week or so to give them variety. Give them fresh food such as a whole baby carrot stuck between the bars, or make vegetable or fruit kebabs. Give them wet lettuce or cabbage leaves, they will enjoy drinking the water off the leaves, and eating the leaf....Show more
Isaias Badgley: Almost all birds are social animals, and your girl is probably really depressed because she doesn't have anyone. If you don't play with her or give her enough attention for her to consider you one of her "flock" then she's not going to be very friendly to you (or your brother). You have two choices: 1. You can spend three hours twice a day with her, talking to her, giving her treats, trying to get her to like you and accept you. Then eventually you can take her safely outside her cage and have her sit on your finger ! and whistle to you and maybe even talk. That's the better choice. or: 2. You can get her another parakeet to keep her company. If you do go this route, make sure you have a cage big enough for two of them. Talk to the people at a PetCo or PetSmart about how big a cage needs to be. But if you don't work with either of them on a regular basis, expect them to bite you every time you handle them. You could also try getting her a toy with a mirror on it, to simulate another bird, but this doesn't always work. Parakeets can be very smart and need a lot of interaction....Show more
Elva Batie: Put a mirror on the outside of their cage so they can see themselves. Also a small dish of water in the bottom of the cage so they can take a bath.
Devon Kalberer: I just got my parrot toys!!Some bells,a mirror, a ball and his friends :)My parrot was very noisy before but he's so curious about anything u give him,he plays for it for like an hour or so and I like that!! As long as! your birds have a little buddy with them, they will be fine because th! ey can chat and even play with each other....Show more
